  • 07/02/09--09:00: SPECIAL GUEST: KIDDRICC AKA MILLION DOLLAR KID THURSDAY - Jul 02,2009 (chan 2962240)
  • Kiddricc, (born as Keven Williams on March 30.1987 in Sacramento, California), was born into music. His mother was just starting her career as a gospel singer, so music was apart of his life from his very first day. Later in life, his father left when he was 7 years old, but before that he was in and out of the house. Keven was forced to be a leader at a young age. Growing up in the mean streets of California, Kid got involved in the gang life with the neighborhood gang, the 57th street Crip’s. At an early age, he was always seen with his father around the robberies and killings. It was almost like a common thing in California. Kid and his father was shot when Kid was the age of 14. Kid ducked to save his life but it was almost a reality check and one more chance to follow what God had planned for him, He spent days in the hospital with his father and he realized that his talent was way more important then the streets. A couple of months later, he would move to Minnesota and pursue his career. He battled kids anywhere. It didn't matter. He also was known to be very athletic and as popularity grew amongst the high school, Kid would grow confidence in his music. Throughout high school, he would do talent shows and win. Anything that said “SIGN UP” meant that Kid was there. Kid teamed up with his first cousin “O.N.E” to form the group “Blackout”. They would later come out with one mixtape tape which sold 700 copies in the neighborhood in 3 weeks. The group would later break up and Kid would join the Midwest Mafia Group that included Diamond Levy a.k.a Flaw and Walter Taylor a.k.a Trouble, after a former member departed from the group.

  • 04/13/10--00:00: Al Pac Hour "Menace From Lenonx" free Max B - Apr 13,2010 (chan 2962240)
  • The newest face of Gain Greene Records, Harlem rapper Al Pac represents his native block of 140th and Lennox to the fullest. Just one street away from the corner that legendary rapper Big L dubbed the Danger Zone, 140th is now best known as the place that raised Gain Greene founder Max B. A descendant of Harlem’s distinguished rap lineage, Al Pac pays homage to Uptown’s finest while bringing his own voice to the game. Born R. Allen Griffin on June 8th, 1982, a young Al Pac was no stranger to the street life. His father, who sold dope downtown with the country boys in the 70’s and 80’s, was murdered right on 139th and Lennox when Pac was only four years old. On the autobiographical song “My Life,” Al Pac chronicles how the tragedy marked him. Getting into trouble for starting fights at school, it wasn’t long before he butted heads with the authorities. At the age of thirteen, Allen was charged with assault and robbery and put on probation. In the midst of the crack era, the teenager started slinging a multitude of drugs on the strip and was sent upstate to Riker’s Island in 2000. Like his childhood friend Max B, who used to beat him up as a kid, Al Pac began rhyming behind the G wall. Citing Eazy E, Tupac and Big L as influences, Al Pac’s music is filled with references to his deceased rap predecessors. In particular, Pac reps Big L, whom he credits for helping raise him. “Big L died so I got to hold the hood down for him, he watching for me.” Continuing to develop his craft during a five-year bid in Greene Correctional Facility, Al Pac became a certified lyrical problem. Taking note of his young friend’s undeniable talent, Max Biggavel assured Al Pac that he would help put him on once they both touched down.

  • 05/30/10--17:30: Torture and Abuse of Children at Israel's Hands - May 31,2010 (chan 2962240)
  • This Week In Palestine: Human Rights, Water, Imprisonment, Torture and Abuse of Children at Israel's Hands Today we have the pleasure of speaking about Gaza and Palestinian prisoners with Dr. Nancy Murray. I would like to first talk to you about a very special situation in Gaza which highlights how Palestinian human rights are flagrantly violated every day, before we join with Dr. Murray, roughly 20 minutes into this program. You are probably aware that the Palestinian people have been systematically deprived of one the most basic necessities of life, for more than sixty years: Water. The Middle East Children's Alliance (MECA)'s appeal for the holidays is to remember the children of Gaza, in particular, it's making an appeal to its newest MAIA project (maia means water in Arabic), an ambitious long-term initiative to address one of the most harmful features of the Israeli Occupation and the blockade of Gaza - the systematic denial of clean, safe drinking water. MECA's statement indicates that today, the health and wellbeing of virtually every Palestinian child and adult is threatened by the shortage of clean, safe water. That's why MECA has launched the Maia Project, to install water desalinization and purification systems in Gaza schools, kindergartens and nurseries. This effort began in 2007 when children at the UN school in Bureij Refugee Camp, Gaza held an election to choose one thing they most wanted for their school: the children voted for drinking water. MECA supporters contributed the funds to install a large unit, faucets and drinking fountains at this school (mecaforpeace.org/article.php?id=291) and one other--providing drinking water for 4,000 students and staff. MECA's partner in Gaza, Afaq Jadeeda (New Horizons) has prepared a list of twenty schools, kindergartens and pre-schools where--with your help --MECA can build water systems in the coming year. • Dr. Abuelaish will talk about his education as a Palestinian becoming a doctor, his work at an Israeli hospital delivering babies and going back and forth over the border to Gaza, and the night that 3 of his daughters were killed in an Israeli attack on Gaza. Despite this tragedy, Dr. Abuelaish, who now lives in Toronto, Canada, still speaks out for peace. His book, I Shall Not Hate, is a testament to the human spirit and its belief in the good in people that lies behind even hatred and war. He speaks of building bridges between peoples, instead of succumbing to hatred. He now has a website for the memorial and foundation he has set up in memory of his daughters and his niece who died in 2009, www.daughtersforlife.com. Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, MD, MPH, a Palestinian medical doctor who was born and raised in the Jabalia refugee Camp is a passionate and eloquent proponent of peace between Palestinians and Israelis. He received his elementary, preparatory and secondary education in the refugee camp schools. Before his three daughters were killed in January 2009 during the Israeli incursion into Gaza, Dr. Abuelaish worked as a researcher at the Gertner Institute at the Sheba Hospital in Tel Aviv. This horrific tragedy did not harden Abuelaish’s heart; neither did it weaken his resolve to act for humanity. Click for more information about Daughters for Life go to:www.daughtersforlife.com
